Buying my books: order form and retail outlets

Buying my books (new ones)

The new and substantially udated and revised edition of my biography of Allen Clarke is now available. Allen Clarke (‘Teddy Ashton’) – Lancashire’s Romantic Radical will sell at £18.99 in shops. However, I’m doing a launch offer of £15 with free local delivery around Bolton, or add £3 for UK postage.

The first launch event will be in Bolton Library on Saturday September 25th at 11.00 – copies on sale at £15 and can also sign them. I’m doing a special offer of £30 (plus postage of £4 unless local) for both. Also planning a Blackpool event in October.

See below for how to/where to…if you have any queries just ring me on 07795 008691. Sometimes I can do free local delivery if you’re within easy cycling distance of Bolton! (for me, about 5

Lancashire-Loominary-Order-Form- September 2021

The Works normally costs £12.99 but is on offer at £5 to the end of this year. I can do the ‘Moorlands’ book and ‘The Works’ for £25. These prices include free local delivery (within roughly 6 miles of Bolton). Please enquire for postage charge or see order form (click on link above).

I’ve discovered a hidden supply of my 1996 edition of Will Yo’ Come O’ Sunday Mornin’? – the story of the 1896 Winter Hill Mass Trespass. Very timely with the 125h anniversary coming up next September. The stock was probably given to Bolton Socialist Club, but whether or not all proceeds will go to the Club. It is priced at £5 (plus £3 post and packing). All proceeds from the sale of the Winter Hill book go to the Club. VERY FEW LEFT.

A new initative is this attractive (well I think so) facemask, proclaiming Bolton as being in Lancashire! I’m donating all proceeds to local charities: Bolton Hospice, Homeless Aid,  and Bolton NICE. They costs £6 (they’re really good quality, 3-ply, and adjuistable). Add £2 for postage.ALL GONE – but might do more if there is interest. Let me know

Bolton and Walt Whitman

The amazing story of Bolton’s links to the great American poet and singer of ‘comradeship and sensuality’, Walt Whitman, is told in my book With Walt Whitman in Bolton: sprituality, sex and socialism in a Northern Milltown. Normally seels at £10. I’m doing a special offer of £5 per copy (plus postage if not local), or £10 for this and The Works.

I also have a few copies of my Settle-Carlisle Railway, published by Crowood, price £24 plus £3 postage.

Send to 109 Harpers Lane, Bolton BL1 6HU with cheque for total amount made to ‘Paul Salveson’. If paying by BACS the account details are:
