A Questionnaire<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>I\u2019m in the middle of writing a book about Lancashire history, culture and identity. It will be called <em>Lancastrians: Mills, Mines and Minarets<\/em> and will be published by Hurst next year (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hurst.com\">www.hurst.com<\/a>). It covers a vast range of subjects including work, play, housing and health, education, art and literature, music, religion and politics.\u00a0 It includes the Lancashire \u00e9migr\u00e9s (Russia, America, Australia etc.) and also the \u2018new Lancastrians\u2019 who have settled here in the last 250 years. By \u2018Lancashire\u2019 I mean the historic county, pre-1974 boundary changes. I have a concluding chapter looking at the future of Lancashire and whether the idea of a \u2018Lancashire identity\u2019 remains strong, including in places that were \u2018taken out\u2019 in 1974: Greater Manchester, Merseyside and \u2018Lancashire north of the sands\u2019. If you could take a few minutes to fill in this questionnaire I\u2019d be really grateful.
